Summer holiday in mountain nature is a perfect recreation for your mind and body. Hardly anything could be compared with a view of wooded mountain peaks and deep valleys.
The environs of the mountain town Bozi Dar is ideal for hiking. Marked hiking trails will help you discover the most beautiful places in the Ore Mountains. One of the best-known ones is the nature trail "Bozidarske raseliniste" (Bozi Dar peat bog) which begins directly in the centre of Bozi Dar. It will guide you through a part of the largest National nature reserve in West Bohemia. Or set out along the nature trail "Blatensky prikop" (Blatna ditch) and cool yourself down in a deep ravine called "Vlci jamy" (Wolf pits) where you'll find snow even in the summer.
Mountain biking is another very popular kind of sport in this area. You can choose from cycle tracks of various length and difficulty. If you are keen on extreme sports, you should try the race track of annual Downhill Mountainbike Championship - it's going along the ski slope down the Klinovec mountain. You can get on the top of klinovec (the highest summit of the Ore Mountains) by chair lift. Besides the breathtaking views over mountain ridges you'll also find there a restaurant to satisfy your hunger. The departure station of the chair lift is situated in Jachymov. Mountain bikes and child's trailers are available in the bike rental Yettibike in Bozi Dar.
Bozi Dar is an old mining town whose history is presented in the Museum of Bozi Dar. In case you'll long for other cultural experience, we recommend you to visit the nearby towns Jachymov, Ostrov or Karlovy Vary - the famous spa with beautiful architecture and colourful cultural life. Only a few kilometres behind the border you'll find the German town Oberwiesenthal that will delight all sportsmen. You can try there for example bowling, climbing or tennis.
